Congratulations Parker Weinbaum!

Parker Weinbaum has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and his court of honor was held at Trinity UMC, Vivion Hall on February 2nd 2019.

To achieve the rank of Eagle Scout Parker had to Earn the 13 required merit badges and 8 others to have the required number of at least 21 merit badges. Along the trail to Eagle, Parker had to complete his Star project which was a rain gutter reclamation for Trinity UMC. He then took on a sizable Life project which was painting a full-scale football field layout for the Westbrook Highschool Marching Band in the school parking lot. Last but not least, Parker’s Eagle project for which he installed a concrete pad and refurbish the existing picnic tables adjacent to the Westbrook High School tennis courts in Beaumont, TX. Parker, a member of the “Bulls Patrol” of Troop 122, directed and led his fellow scouts, friends, and family in their efforts to help construct the concrete pad. This was an intense undertaking which commenced in early March and was completed March 14, 2018. The construction consisted of dodging rainstorms, forming and finishing the pad and re-planking the picnic tables. Parker and his crew put many back-breaking hours into this project. The tennis coach was pleased with the project undertaken by Parker and his friends and the projects result.

Mr. Balentine was the Master of Ceremonies with Colin Paterson calling the flag ceremony and Mr. Hamilton offering the Eagle Charge. There was a reception that immediately followed in the at the back of Vivion Hall.

In addition to earning the rank of Eagle Scout, Parker also holds the distinction for earning the triple crown in high adventure. He has paddled the boundary waters at Nothern Tier, summitted Mount Baldy at Philmont Scout Ranch, and sailed the ocean blue out of Seabase Bahamas. Parker has chosen adventure over comfort.

Parker’s plans for the future include attending College at Texas A&M College Station. You can rest assured he will be successful in his future endeavors.
